Profile on Overseer Rev. Dr. Sharon M. Gordon

Rev. Sharon May Gordon was born in the parish of St. Thomas Jamaica on September 10, 1958 to proud parents of Ivy and Peter Falconer. As a young girl, Rev. Gordon was always warm with compassionate and loving to everyone with whom she came in contact. She never hesitated to lend a hand whenever she was needed and was therefore loved by all. Her motherly character was displayed very early in life when she took on the responsibility of caring for both family and friends. Rev. Gordon was educated at Broward community college, where her leadership ability and outstanding character was displayed in a very real and exceptional way. 

In 2010, with a yearning desire to get deeper into the word of God Rev. Gordon registered at the Moody Bible Institute where she received her Doctoral degree in Theology. At the tender age of eleven Sharon gave her life to the Lord and was called into the ministry to preach at the age of 26. She served as an Evangelist for nine years under the ministry of The Deliverance Pentecostal Holiness Church. In 1980 Rev. Gordon married Hezekiah Gordon and moved to the United States of America where she made Florida her home. She was blessed with a daughter, Joy, and now has four grand-children. Being the family person that she is, she started on a drive for other family members to join her in the United States. This dream is realized approximately 90 percent. 

In January 1990 Rev. Hezekiah Gordon and Rev. Sharon Gordon started the Revival Faith Center Church with three members. Four months after the church was started, tragedy hit the family and Rev. Hezekiah Gordon went home to be with the Lord. A great burden was left on Rev. Gordon to carry on the ministry that was so young. However, although it became rough and unbearable at times, with God’s grace, perseverance and determination, she struggled on. It was a struggle that she took on with the determination and confidence that the God who has called her into ministry will see her through. 

In March 1997, through a revelation from the Lord, the name Revival Faith Center Church was changed to El Shaddai Pentecostal Holiness Church, Inc. The church has grown from one location to four locations in Margate, Port St. Lucie, Kissimmee and Eustis all in Florida. Our Port St. Lucia location is presently being reorganized.  Rev. Gordon has a heart of compassion that transcends from the pulpit to the community at large. This could be seen as she became involved in the fight against HIV/AIDS in both, Broward and Dade Counties, teaching HIV/AIDS awareness for approximately ten years. This earned her the respect and recognition of community leaders in both Counties.  Rev. Gordon has a passion for young people and the elderly. It is that passion that drove her to get her degree in nursing to do extensive work with the elderly, seeing to the needs of those who are shut-in and those who have special needs. For the youths in the community, she has organized programs where they are able to express themselves, given counsel, encouragement and assistance where needed. 

Over the years, Rev. Gordon has been a beacon in the Counties of Dade and Broward, where she has effected the changed in the lives of so many. This dynamic woman of God has now carried her passion and drive to the community of Eustis, Florida, where the headquarters of El Shaddai is now located. She is now presently working with other pastors and the city of Eustis in putting on a Youth Gospel Fest. This will take place the weekend of October 13th - 14th. Let us continue to pray for her as she carries out the work of the Lord. To many she is pastor and mother, to some she is pastor and sister, to many she is pastor and friend who puts herself last that others can be first. It does not matter how she is viewed, there is no denying that overseer, Rev. Dr. Sharon May Gordon is a Chosen Woman of God assigned by our Father as a catalyst of change in a world that needs to know that there is a Savior who is coming back one day as a judge give every man according as his work may be.
